TIM Ultrafibra is launched in more than 12 cities in Santa Catarina, covering more than 540,000 homes in the region.

We launched 5G in July, starting with the federal capital, Brasília. We then started operating with the new technology in São Paulo, Curitiba and Rio de Janeiro.

We acquired the 4G and 5G frequencies at 2.3 Ghz, 3.5 Ghz and 26 Ghz in an auction held by Anatel.

Anatel approves the Network Infrastructure Sharing Agreement between TIM and Telefônica Brasil S.A.

We reformulated the TIM Black portfolio and brought back offers with large data and internet packages that can be accumulated for the following month, as well as international roaming.

2019

We announce pilot projects for 5G tests in 3 cities.

TIM Live passes the 500,000 customer mark.

We introduced the entertainment hub concept to the mobile market with the launch of TIM Black Família.

2018

We launched TIM Pré TOP, a new prepaid plan with a portfolio that presents new benefits and is the only one on the market that offers social networks without deducting from the data franchise.

We were the first operator to activate a commercial Internet of Things (IoT) network on 4G.

2017

We launched TIM Black, a post-paid plan concept that, in addition to unlimited calls to any operator in Brazil, has exclusive benefits and advantages.

2016

We changed our brand and adopted the slogan “Evoluir é fazer diferente”.

We launched the first 4G internet network in Fernando de Noronha and reached more than 1,200 cities covered by the technology by the end of 2016.

2015

We revolutionized the market once again and put an end to the differentiated charging for calls between operators, reformulating the entire portfolio of offers.

2014

We launched the Infinity per day offer for the prepaid segment, with a tariff per day of use.

Live TIM surpasses the 100,000 customer mark.

We acquired the 4G frequency at 700 MHz in an auction held by Anatel.

We launched the Controle WhatsApp plan, which allows you to send text and voice messages, photos and videos via the app without discounting the user’s internet franchise.

2013

We launched Infinity Web+Torpedo, an offer for the prepaid segment with a single daily rate for sending SMS and surfing the internet all day.

We created Instituto TIM, with the mission of creating and leveraging resources and strategies for the democratization of science and innovation, which promote human development in Brazil.

2012

We launched Liberty Controle Express, a plan that maintains the benefits of unlimited calls, simplifying the acquisition of a post-paid plan, with the only requirement being a credit card.

We acquired the 4G frequency at 2.5 GHz in an auction held by Anatel.

We achieved leadership in the prepaid segment.

2011

We migrated to BM&FBovespa’s “Novo Mercado”.

2010

We launched the Infinity Web and Liberty Web data offers, which provide unlimited internet access for prepaid and postpaid customers, respectively.

We were the first operator to launch the iPhone 4, reinforcing our position as an innovative company.

2009

We began the launch of our new portfolio of offers with the ‘Infinity’ plan.

2008

We have started providing third generation services under the “TIM 3G+” brand. The new TIM 3G+ includes services such as mobile broadband, video calling and mobile TV.

We launched ‘TIM Fixo’, establishing another milestone in the Company’s convergence strategy.

We launched the iPhone 3G, with exclusive offers specially adapted for Apple’s revolutionary handset.

2007

We acquired a national fixed telephony license.

We acquired 3G frequencies at 1.9 GHz and 2.1 GHz, for the whole country (except the Triângulo Mineiro region), allowing us to offer 3rd generation services in all states, as well as mobile broadband.

2005

The headquarters of TIM Participações are transferred to the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

2004

The company is now called “TIM Participações”, after the incorporation of Tele Nordeste Celular by Tele Celular Sul.

2003

We launched the Carrier Selection Code (CSP), through which users can now choose their long-distance service provider. The choice of provider for calls made from a cell phone is part of the SMP requirements.

2002

We launched GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) technology by starting our commercial operations in the areas where we have acquired licenses in Bands D and E.

2001

We acquired licenses in the D and E mobile telephony bands, making us the only group authorized to offer these services throughout the country.
