This is our purpose.

We have been in Brazil for 25 years, leading important market movements and bringing digital transformation to society. We have more than 60 million mobile customers, approximately 180,000 kilometers of fiber optics throughout the country, and around 30,000 sites. We are leaders in 4G coverage in Brazil with a presence in 100% of the municipalities, including rural areas. In 5G, we are also pioneers, having conducted the first tests back in 2019.

Our strategy aims to create a TIM for the future by delivering the best service, the best network, and the best offers for our customers. All of this is based on fundamental pillars for the company, such as innovation, customer experience, and agility.

TIM became the first and only operator with 4G coverage in 100% of municipalities in Brazil, in addition to 5G coverage in all state capitals.

2022

Completion of the purchase of Oi’s mobile assets. The transaction included the acquisition of spectrum, customers and network usage contracts. Starting in May, we began the integration of the assets with a focus on three fronts: mobile network integration, customer migration and decommissioning of overlapping sites.

2021

Acquisition of FiberCo Soluções de Infraestrutura Ltda. by IHS Fiber Brasil. FiberCo is a company established by TIM S.A. for the segregation of network assets and provision of infrastructure services. IHS now holds 51% of Fiber Co’s share capital, while TIM S.A. holds the remaining 49%. With the completion of the acquisition, Fiber Co is now called I-Systems.

2020

TIM S.A. has been granted registration as a publicly-held company in category “A” with the CVM (without offering securities), pursuant to CVM Instruction No. 480/09. TIM S.A. remains a wholly-owned subsidiary of TIM Participações.

TIM Participações is incorporated by TIM S.A., with the latter becoming a company listed on the São Paulo Stock Exchange and with ADRs listed on the NYSE.

Fitch Ratings (“Fitch”) assigned the Company an Initial Long-Term National Scale Rating of “AAA(bra)”, with a stable outlook.

Partnership with BANCO C6 S.A., combining digital banking and telecommunications services for the first time.

 

2018

Completion of the corporate reorganization initiated in 2017, which aimed at the incorporation of TIM Celular S.A. by TIM S.A. (formerly Intelig). This operation aimed to capture operational and financial synergies through the implementation of a more efficient structure of processes, as well as accounting and internal control systems.

2011

TIM Participações joins the Novo Mercado of BM&FBovespa, the highest listing segment in Brazil, assuming additional corporate governance commitments. As a result, the Company’s preferred shares are converted at a ratio of 0.8406 common shares for every 1 preferred share.

Acquisition of all shares of AES Elpa Ltda and 98.3% of the capital of AES Communications Rio de Janeiro S.A, creating TIM Fiber SP S.A and TIM Fiber RJ S.A.

2012

In order to simplify its organizational structure, TIM Fiber RJ and TIM Fiber SP were absorbed by TIM Celular.

2009

Acquisition of Intelig Telecomunições Ltda.

1998

Start of operations of  Tele Celular Sul Participações S.A and Tele Nordeste Celular Participações S.A.

The common shares of Tele Celular Sul are now traded on the São Paulo Stock Exchange. The Company’s American Depositary Receipts are now traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE)

2004

After some corporate restructuring that took place between 2002 and 2004, the company was renamed TIM Participações S.A., providing telecommunications services through its subsidiaries, TIM Celular S.A. (“TIM Celular”) and Intelig
Telecomunicações Ltda. (“Intelig”).

TIM Participações shares are now traded on the São Paulo Stock Exchange, keeping the old Tele Celular Sul trading codes – TCSL3 for common shares and TCSL4 for preferred shares.

TIM Participações ADRs are now traded on the NYSE, under the code TSU.

1999

Telecom Italia Mobile, a company of the Telecom Italia group, now holds control of Tele Celular Sul and Tele Nordeste Celula

TIM

We are a holding company established on May 22, 1998 as a result of the corporate reorganization process involving the spin-off of Telecomunicações Brasileiras S.A. – Telebrás. We were incorporated under the corporate name of Tele Celular Sul Participações S.A. and, on August 30th, 2004, this corporate name was changed to TIM Participações S.A., which was later merged into TIM S.A.

We are currently controlled by TIM Brasil Serviços e Participações S.A. (“TIM Brasil”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Telecom Italia Finance S.A., which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of Telecom Itália S.p.A.

We started our operations in Brazil in 1998 and consolidated ourselves as a national company in 2002, making us the first mobile operator to have a presence in all states of Brazil.
